Who are we?

Our church is a group of people who share a faith in the God who has revealed His love for the world through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The church belongs to the Baptist tradition of the Christian church which emphasises personal commitment to Jesus Christ, expressed principally through believers's baptism (i.e. at an age when the person involved can make up their own mind), and personal membership of the church.

Within our tradition, each church is regarded as a seperate body and decisions are made by the membership thinking, praying and sharing together. We have a Church Council who are the elected leadership of the church.

The church has always sought to provide a spiritual home for its members and friends whatever their background, theology or personal situation. The church seeks to be a supportive and encouraging community of friends.

Our Services

Our services are relaxed and friendly and our worship includes hymns and songs sung by the congregation, prayers and a sermon and/or family talk.

Children & Young People

Children are very welcome at the services and there is a Junior Church and Crèche to cater for all ages. We have regular family services in which the children stay in throughout. We have a Connect 4 All service on the second Sunday of each month at 5pm. This is for everyone to come to, but is particularly geared towards our young people in the Brigades and other young people.

As a Baptist Church we do not do Christenings as such, however we have a 'Thanksgiving and Blessing' for all who would like one, when we give thanks to God for a baby/child and ask God's blessing upon them and their family.

We also do have 'Infant Dedication' when the people bringing their baby/child before God are committed to bringing him/her up in a Christian way.
